Central Region Update

Paul Blencoe, Regional Director, Central Region.

Central Region The birth place of Taekwon-Do in new Zealand continues to pump hard and strong with most weekends devoted to pursuing the art as well as regular weekly training nights.

Our HP teams (in both Hawkes Bay and the Manawatu) continue their development under expert tutelage in both arenas. We are fixed with eyes firmly on gold at National/Oceana levels and internationally in Sydney later this year. We intend to be loud, proud and strong as we always are in Central.
The regional steering group is busier than Donald Trumps press secretary developing ideas and working on our existing plans. We continue to blaze a trail for the other regions to follow.
Recently there was Black Belt grading held in Hastings which was exceptionally well attended and showed great spirit. The attendance numbers were well in excess of expectation and there were some outstanding performances on the day.  Masters Rounthwaite and Pellow were the examiners.
A Pink Do-Bok night was hosted by Mr Carl Robinson at Guardians Taekwon-Do in Palmerston North on Thursday the 17th of May. this has become a regular fixture on our calendar in the region with good attendance, the aim being to promote awareness of bullying and raise funds for the parent organisation promoting anti bullying in our communities.
Mr Robinson is very passionate about the subject and did an outstanding job again this year organising and facilitating the event.
